St. Petersburg University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics is one of the leading universities in Russia in Information Technology, Software Engineering and Programming education. Books authored by you are widely used at various classes in our university.

St Petersburg University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics is also known for its great success in ACM ICPC contests. In 2004, 2008 and 2009 the team of the university became World Champions. So the members of the 2009 team attended ACM Awards banquet where you were awarded Karl V. Scientific Board of St Petersburg University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics decided to bestow you the title of Honorary Doctor of our University (previously this title was bestowed to Dr Niklaus Wirth and Dr Bertrand Meyer).

We know that you will attend Nobel Prize Laureates Meeting in St. Petersburg in September. On September 24, 2009 you will be attending our university, during this event the Honorary Doctor ceremony will take place.

If you agree to receive the title, please notify me and prepare the speech of 20-40 minutes (you can use PowerPoint presentation during the speech).

I am honored to accept the Honorary Doctorate. Should the talk be non technical or should it be a general audience talk on a technical subject. Any guidance you can give me would be very much appreciated.
